1979 - 1984 bass assistant instructor at the Folkwang Music School in Essen, Germany
Throughout the ’80s and from 1989 – 1999: permanent assistant instructor at the Summer Academy in Remscheid as well as summer courses, which is the oldest European institute for pop music education.
- Since 1991 artistic adviser to LAG Music from North Rhine-Westphalia state in Germany
- 1992 - 1995 member of the jury on the national “Creative Music” competition
- 1997 member of the expert jury on the national “Youth Jazz” competition
- 1995 - 2003 one of the Coaches for the young talent competition (at first state-wide, from 1998 national) “John Lennon Talent Award”
- 2000 - 2005 a Coach for the “Pop forum Summer College” for the rock endowment of the Baden-Wuerttemberg state and the Southwest Radio SWR
- Since 2002 a Coach and namesake to the “Martin Engelien Band Camp,” Rockforum Muchstock in Much, Germany
- 2006 Bandtrainer for the final bands of the national Talent Competition ''Local Heroes''
- 2007 a Coach for the ''Rock Legends Adventures''
- 2008 a Coach for the ''Rock Legends Adventures''
- 2009 Founding of the Worlds unique Coaching Institution ''Go Music Adventure''
- 2009 a Coach for the ''10th International Guitar Festival - Hersbruck''
- 2010 a Coach for the ''11th International Guitar Festival - Hersbruck''

Apart from that I have led numerous workshops and seminars as a coach and assistant instructor for bass, band work, studio and productions, just to name a few, active with a diverse group of institutes and schools.
